Hello Maple Families,
We hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Lots happening at Ecole Maple this week, including our SAC meeting tomorrow night, and report cards going home at the end of the week!
Don't forget that Monday February 16th is Family Day, and there will be no school.
Stay Warm!
The Ecole Maple Team
Rocks and Rings by Curling Canada will begin at Ecole Maple this week!
Every Kindergarten, Primary and Junior class will participate in one of the two physical education programs that they offer: instructional or bonspiel tournament.
The instructional program includes a variety of drills, relays, and team-building activities that introduce students to the sport of curling and wheelchair curling with a focus on FUN!
The tournament option creates an interactive curling bonspiel right in our school gym! Students will engage in friendly competition while learning curling terminology, scoring, and more. Custom scoreboards and mini curling lanes will turn the gym into an iceless curling rink ready for FUN!
We are asking families for a donation of $2.00 so that everyone at the school can experience an introduction to curling. Please visit School Day to donate. Click here for more information on the LDSB website.
A big Thank You to our wonderful Maple Community for your donations of games and puzzles. The students and staff appreciate your generosity and look forward to using them in our classrooms!
Maple Movie Night March 5th
Visit School Day to order your pizza before February 26th!
Doors open at 6:00pm with Pizza arriving at 6:15pm and the movie will begin at 6:30pm.

Report Weather or Transportation Related Absence
All parents/guardians are asked to report their student’s absence regardless of the reason, including during bus cancellations. Often, bused students find alternative ways to school and we want to ensure we know the whereabouts of every student to ensure their safety and well-being. Knowing who is supposed to be at school will allow school office staff to best ensure all students are accounted for. Students are asked to ensure they use the Main Entrance doors and report to the Office if arriving after the 9:15 bell.
The reporting tool has two options regarding transportation:
- Inclement weather (all transportation types and walkers) for any inclement weather days when your student will not be attending school.
- Transportation (not weather-related) for any non-weather-related transportation reason when your student will not be attending school (e.g., when a bus is cancelled due to a driver shortage).
We recognize this is a change in practice but one we are making to ensure student safety and well-being. Thank you for your support and understanding.
