Hello Maple Families,
Welcome to February! Let's hope that the woes of cancelled school buses and closed schools is behind us, and we can get back into the routine!
We have lots of exciting activities and events this month, so please see all of the updates below!

2026-2027 School Year Calendar Survey

Rocks & Rings At Maple
Egg Farmers Rocks and Rings by Curling Canada will be at Ecole Maple for 6 days in February. Every Kindergarten, Primary and Junior class will participate in one of the two physical education programs that they offer: instructional or bonspiel tournament.
The instructional program includes a variety of drills, relays, and team-building activities that introduce students to the sport of curling and wheelchair curling with a focus on FUN!
The tournament option creates an interactive curling bonspiel right in our school gym! Students will engage in friendly competition while learning curling terminology, scoring, and more. Custom scoreboards and mini curling lanes will turn the gym into an iceless curling rink ready for FUN!
We are asking families for a donation of $2.00 so that everyone at the school can experience an introduction to curling. Please visit School Day to donate. Click here for more information on the LDSB website.
Kindergarten Registration is Now Open
Welcome to Kindergarten in Limestone. If your student was born in 2022, now is the time to register your new student to start school this September. Click here to visit the LDSB website for more information.
Please note that all upcoming SAC Hot Lunch Days will be rescheduled to the following Monday when there is a Snow Day on the scheduled date. It is important for students to bring their own lunches on Snow Days if they come to school.

Hello Families,
We are looking for used board games and puzzles for use during indoor recess in all grades. If you have any puzzles or games good for ages 4 to age 12 with all their pieces we would love to take them off your hands. On the included poster is a list of board game and card game ideas some teachers were interested in but we are happy with any games you may have at home collecting dust. If you have other items at home you think might be a good fit for indoor recess entertainment don't hesitate to reach out to parent council or Amber Murray.
You can send items in with your child at any time or drop them off to the school on February 3rd between 3:30-6.
Report Weather or Transportation Related Absence
All parents/guardians are asked to report their student’s absence regardless of the reason, including during bus cancellations. Often, bused students find alternative ways to school and we want to ensure we know the whereabouts of every student to ensure their safety and well-being. Knowing who is supposed to be at school will allow school office staff to best ensure all students are accounted for. Students are asked to ensure they use the Main Entrance doors and report to the Office if arriving after the 9:15 bell.
The reporting tool has two options regarding transportation:
- Inclement weather (all transportation types and walkers) for any inclement weather days when your student will not be attending school.
- Transportation (not weather-related) for any non-weather-related transportation reason when your student will not be attending school (e.g., when a bus is cancelled due to a driver shortage).
We recognize this is a change in practice but one we are making to ensure student safety and well-being. Thank you for your support and understanding.
During the winter, Tri-Board utilizes professional weather monitoring & forecasting
services and works closely with our school bus companies to determine if it is safe to offer school bus transportation on inclement weather days.
A bus is cancelled in a weather zone if it serves a school or has a bus stop located in the weather zone. Buses may be cancelled in other zones based on local conditions.
Schools will remain open however any students driven to school by parents/guardians will need to be picked up at the end of the day.
