Hello Maple Families!
We hope you are enjoying your weekends, and if you celebrated Halloween, that students are enjoying it in reasonable amounts!
Welcome to November! It's hard to believe we are here already! We have lots going on over the next weeks, so please check our Web site regularly
We will continue our 'find the Grinch Tree' game at the school. Students are searching everyday to find our special tree for bragging rights for the day! Congrats to our winners so far. Be sure to order your tree while there is still stock! All the donations from this event go to the food sharing project.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT STAFF PARKING LOT
This is a very important message to all of our community members. The large parking lot at the back of the school is intended for staff only. Please refrain from parking in these spaces, or pulling into the parking lot at all for pick-ups.
Parking here or pulling into the bus lane poses potential danger and accidents, especially during times where buses are being unloaded or loaded.
We are asking all community members to park on the road, or find a side street to park your car while you come pick up your students. Thank you!

From Mme Trueman, Mr. Sergeant, and Ms. Turner:
Attention families of students in grades 4-6. Junior volleyball tryouts are beginning this week. If your child is interested in trying out for volleyball, there will be tryouts taking place during the school day this week (November 3-November 7). Teams will be decided by the end of the week. Please login on School Day to sign off the permission form and inherent risk form if this is of interest to your child. If a permission form is not signed, your child will not be able to tryout. Good luck to all athletes!
Maple Holiday Plant Sale
Order on School Day! Limited Quantities!
École Maple’s School Advisory Council (SAC) is excited to engage in a Holiday Plant Sale fundraiser with the proceeds being donated to The Food Sharing Project in Kingston. The Food Sharing Project is an organization that provides free nutritious food programs (breakfasts and snacks) for all publicly-funded schools in KFL&A, including École Maple Elementary School. Our school alone benefits from approximately $20,000 worth of food from the program.
The school community has the opportunity to purchase a few different holiday themed live plants. You have the option of purchasing a Cupressus Grinch Tree in a 5" pot, a Rosemary Cone Shaped Tree in a 6" pot or a Lavender Cone Shaped Tree in a 6" Pot. Quantities are limited so orders will be available through School Day until Sunday, November 9th or until we sell out. Your order will need to be picked up from the school on Thursday, November 27th between 3:30-5:00pm or Friday, November 28th between 7:45-9:15am.
If you have questions or special requests, please email the School Advisory Council at ecolemaplecouncil@gmail.com.
November is Cereal Month
Once again, this year we are honoring Brady Faroldi, an aspiring teacher from Kingston, who passed away due to an unknown cardiac issue. In his memory, École Maple Elementary School will be collecting nut-free breakfast cereals for the Food Sharing Project throughout the month of November. We are hoping to gather yellow boxes of cereal, such as Cheerios or Shreddies. Last year we also started to collect Cheerios to keep in our school - so everyone at Maple always learns with a full belly!
