Mental Health & Wellness

Limestone Learning Foundation

According to a 2013 report from the Mental Health Commission of Canada, schools are an ideal place to provide universal mental health promotion in teaching coping skills and provide early intervention for students who may not have otherwise received treatment. The Limestone District School Board has developed a comprehensive Mental Health and Substance Use Strategy to help promote mental health, identify issues early, reduce stigma, and provide pathways to both Board and community-based supports for students.

LDSB Mental Health and Substance Use Strategy

The Mental Health and Substance Use Strategy is the result of an extensive consultation process that sought input from various stakeholders, including students, families, community partners, and school board staff.

In addition to the Strategy, the board develops an annual Mental Health and Substance Use Action Plan, which outlines Limestone’s mental health and substance use initiatives for the year.
